Privacy policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
Deltaday (readdeltaday.com) is a daily AI news briefing. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who processes it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect little.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time link. We don't use passwords.
- Preferences and reading state: your role, the topics you follow, stories you save, and which stories you've opened.
- Your work description (optional): if you tell us what you're working on, we store it and use it to write the “For your product” notes on your top stories.
- Delivery settings: your delivery time, the email address briefs go to, and, if you add one, your Slack incoming-webhook URL (stored so we can post to it).
- Waitlist requests: email, role and (optionally) company, if you ask for an invite.
- Product analytics: when you view an issue, open, save or rate a story, and whether a briefing email was opened (via a small image in the email). We use this to measure whether Deltaday is useful and to improve ranking. It is stored with your account in our own database.
- Security data: the IP address and browser user agent recorded with each sign-in session.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your data, show ads, or use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
- Issues are written once a day from public news sources, the same for every reader in a role. We don't send your email, reading history or other account data to AI model providers. The one exception is the optional work description you write yourself: it's sent to our AI provider (Groq), together with your top stories, to write your “For your product” notes. Don't include confidential information in it; you can edit or clear it anytime in Personalize.
Why we use it
To provide the service you asked for (sign-in, your personalised brief, delivery by email or Slack), to keep accounts secure, and to understand and improve the product. Our basis is your consent when you sign up or join the waitlist, and our legitimate interest in running a secure, useful service.
Who processes it
- Vercel hosts the website and application.
- Neon hosts our database (United States region).
- Resend sends sign-in and briefing emails.
- Slack receives briefings only if you add your own webhook.
- GitHub hosts our code and runs scheduled jobs; it does not receive reader data.
- Groq runs the open-weight models that write each issue from public news, and your “For your product” notes from your optional work description; it receives no other reader data.
Your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, by these providers under their own security and privacy commitments.
Cookies and local storage
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember your light/dark theme. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Account data, preferences and reading state: while your account exists. Analytics events: up to 24 months. Waitlist requests: until you're invited or ask us to remove them. Deleting your account removes your preferences, saved stories, feedback and analytics.
Your rights
You can delete your account yourself at any time in Personalize (Delete account). You can also ask to access, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, by emailing jaswantsinghjsn@gmail.com. You can stop briefing emails instantly with the unsubscribe link in any email, or in Personalize. If you're in India, you have these rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and jaswantsinghjsn@gmail.com is our contact for grievances; we aim to respond within 30 days. Readers elsewhere have similar rights under their local laws.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), sign-in links expire after 15 minutes, secrets are stored as encrypted environment variables, and access to production systems is limited.
Children
Deltaday is meant for working professionals and isn't intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell readers by email for material changes.
