Athenahealth launches AthenaPatient MCP, letting Claude access patient records

Athenahealth partnered with Anthropic to offer AthenaPatient MCP to Claude Pro ($20/mo) and Claude Max ($100/mo) users; patients must opt‑in, grant authenticated Athenahealth credentials, select which data Claude can access, and can revoke access, while Claude can use lab results, vitals, medications, and other records but does not provide medical advice.
