Available nowOpenAI adds GIF creation to ChatGPT with Images 2.6 model
OpenAI is rolling out a GIF creation feature to all ChatGPT and Codex users on web, desktop and mobile, powered by the new Images 2.6 model. The model lets users generate animated GIFs from text prompts or uploaded photos, adjust speed and edit individual frames, and maintains character consistency across frames; OpenAI reports over four billion images generated weekly.
Benchmarks are the company's own; not independently verified.
Why it matters
Images 2.6 enables GIF generation, so product managers should prioritize animation features in upcoming releases and benchmark against OpenAI’s speed.
